BOCES of NYS is launching a new Teacher Ambassador program to help equip current classroom teachers across the state with tools to support career exploration in the education field. The program has pre-built presentations that include opportunities for teachers to share their personal journey and professional experience. This renewed focus on the rewards of teaching aims to spark curiosity and a potential career path for future generations.

The program’s toolkit, launched with the help of campaign coordinators at each of the 37 BOCES across New York, provides universal language, resources and a “how-to” for ambassadors to leverage their own experience to motivate some students to explore the profession while planning a future after high school.

BOCES of NYS is supporting the work of TEACH NY, the State Education Dept. and the New York state Dept. of Labor to elevate the importance and rewards of the teaching profession, as well as remove barriers to becoming a teacher in New York.
