Congratulations to Dr. Taweepon (Pon) Farrar (Orleans/Niagara BOCES), Dr. Thomas K. Putnam (Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES), and Dr. Jasmin Varela (Eastern Suffolk BOCES), who were all appointed to district superintendent positions earlier this year.

A pinning ceremony was held at the September DS meeting to welcome three new district superintendents leading BOCES across the state.

Congratulations to Dr. Taweepon (Pon) Farrar (Orleans/Niagara BOCES), Dr. Thomas K. Putnam (Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES), and Dr. Jasmin Varela (Eastern Suffolk BOCES), who were all appointed to district superintendent positions earlier this year.

They’ve joined their district superintendent colleagues as the chief executive officers of their individual BOCES. As CEOs, they are responsible for both the BOCES and its component districts and serve as the commissioner of education’s representative to the region.
